Labor Category

Used to group types of procured labor a client intends to source through the Beeline platform. Some of the most frequently used labor categories include IT, Admin/ Clerical, and Professional.

A Beeline-platform specific feature that allows a client to report on similar jobs across different industries

LMS

aka Learning Solutions e-Learning or TMS

Software used internally to track training plans. A way to customize corporate training and development through an organization by providing instructor-led training online utilizing video tutorials. 

 

Learning Management System

A software application or Web-based technology used to plan, implement, and assess a specific learning process. 

Contingent Staffing

Ledger

Computer file for recording and totaling economic transactions measured in terms of a monetary unit of account-by-account type, with debits and credits in separate columns and a beginning monetary balance and ending monetary balance for each account.

LI

Light Industrial

Involves manufacturing, but on a much smaller scale than what you might see at a large production plant that spans several acres. In some cases, light industry can be performed in spaces no bigger than a two-car garage. Light industrial companies produce a variety of personal and household items and components of larger goods.

LI generally requires different types of requisition workflows.  

 

Lighthouse (Phase)

Product development lifecycle stage when the product hasn't been built and is in design.

 

Lighthouse Client

A Client who partners with Beeline on creating products and features/capabilities prior to development. The Client is the innovator, participates in creation, and using their own data for testing. (For example, Southwest Airlines and Pfizer.) The Client may also financially invest in the solution. A Lighthouse Client is automatically included in any Early Access program.

 

Lighthouse Program

Innovation partnership period in which Lighthouse Clients invest and participate in design and product development through defined high-touch interaction with Beeline and partners (such as, focus group, sprint demos involvement, prototype input, and more).

 

Line Item

An individually allocated record representing the lowest level of a transaction for processing by the payment calculator. This could represent a Milestone, Unit of Measure, Weekly Timesheet, Misc. fee, or other transaction type.

Line of Business

Describes the products or services offered by a business or manufacturer. In some industry sectors, like insurance, an LOB also has a regulatory and accounting definition to meet a statutory set of insurance policies.

In the VMS, a LOB categorizes transactions as defined by the client.

Localization

L10N (initialism)

The process of adapting a product or service to a particular language, culture, and desired local “look-and-feel”. Translating the product’s user interface is just one step of the localization process. Resizing dialog boxes, buttons, and palette tabs to accommodate longer translated strings is also part of localization.

 

Location

Name or number of a building and the name of the road or street where the office/site is located.
