Software Development Life Cycle

A structure imposed on the development of a software product. Similar terms include software life cycle and software process. It is often considered a subset of systems development life cycle. There are several models for such processes, each describing approaches to a variety of tasks or activities that take place during the process.

 

Segment

A value that means something to the client, commonly an accounting code or cost center. A cost allocation code is usually made up of multiple segments

Gives users—especially system administrators—the knowledge and resources to configure and improve Beeline Enterprise on their own. It relies on training, documentation, and best‑practice guidance that help users grow their expertise over time without needing consultant support.

Cross-platform
Self‑service Lets users take control and get things done on their own—like setting up templates, turning on features, resetting passwords—directly in Beeline Enterprise without waiting on support teams. Service Level Agreement

This is the mutually agreed to level of service between Beeline and the client. SLA standards are reflected in our internal ticket tracking system (JIRA) to ensure that client issues are resolved based on level of severity and expected response time.

 

Services Procurement

Services Procurement provides support for the entire procurement lifecycle from Competitive Bid to SOW (Statement of Work) to active Project. Our Services Procurement solution is designed to manage project-based activity (e.g., milestone, unit of measure) rather than the day-to-day, time and expense management of contract workers by hiring managers which is standard within our Contingent Services solution.

SME

Subject Matter Expert

A person who is an authority in a particular area or topic.

 

Sole-Source

One "source" or means of acquiring all of your staffing needs. Commonly referred to Sole-Source Supplier, which allows a client company to go to one recruiter (firm) for all their staffing needs. (Permanent, Temp-to-Perm, Contract, Payrolling, etc.)

 

Sourcing

Beeline defines Sourcing as that part of the overall procurement cycle that covers all candidate-related activity. This includes candidate submission, evaluation, and management, the offer negotiation, and the final onboarding to active assignment.

 

SOW

aka Statement of Work

Beeline defines SOW (Statement of Work) as it applies to our Services Procurement solution as a document, routinely employed in the field of project management, which defines project-specific activities, deliverables, and their respective timelines, all of which form a contractual obligation upon the vendor, in providing services to the client.

Sponsors

A key executive or senior leader within an organization who supports and champions the contingent workforce program. Their role is crucial for several reasons:

  • Strategic Alignment: They ensure the program aligns with the organization's overall goals and objectives.

  • Resource Allocation: They help secure necessary resources, including budget and personnel, to support the program.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: They facilitate communication and collaboration among various stakeholders, such as HR, procurement, legal, and finance.

  • Policy Enforcement: They support the implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures related to contingent staffing

 

SSN

Social Security Number

Social Security number is a nine-digit number issued to United States citizens, permanent residents, and temporary residents under section 205 of the Social Security Act, codified as 42 U.S.C. § 405. The number is issued to an individual by the Social Security Administration, an independent agency of the US government.

 

SSO

Single Sign On

SSO occurs when a user logs in to one application and is then automatically signed into other applications, regardless of the platform, technology, or domain the user is using.

 

Stabilization

The period of time between a client's initial go-live and a client's first successful invoice

Start Date

The first day of the assignment, project, or contract depending on the model for the contingent labor engagement.

 

Statement of Work

SOW 

A legally binding agreement routinely employed in the field of project management that outlines the contractual obligation upon the vendor when providing services to the client. An SOW defines project-specific activities, deliverables, and timelines for a vendor providing services to the client.

The period of time following a client's first successful invoice; the state of the client being stabilized.

Client Onboarding

Submit Candidates

Task performed by Suppliers or Vendors in Beeline Enterprise when a request is released, Suppliers and Vendors review their candidate pool and then submit eligible candidates to the client for review.

 

Supplier

Beeline defines Supplier as the employer of the contract workers. Suppliers must successfully complete our Vendor Compliance requirements before they are granted user rights in Beeline Enterprise. A contractual relationship exists between the Supplier and the Client. Clients can assign Suppliers to specific Labor Categories and/or Geography.

Due to the nature of the contractual relationship, ‘supplier’ is the proper term for the CWS solution while ‘vendor’ is the proper term for the Services Procurement solution.

Also, a distinct procurement persona in Beeline Enterprise billing process.

 

Supplier Evaluation

An evaluation of a supplier as it relates to their contingent labor-based activities.

 

Supplier Timesheet Extract

A report that is available to suppliers where they can export all timesheet data for a given period.
