Search tips
Can't find what you're looking for? Try searching using the words people are most likely to use when describing the same task, process, or issue.
Search by what you're trying to do
Searching for a task or process often returns more targeted results.
Examples:
- Create a requisition
- Approve a timesheet
- Submit a candidate
- Extend a worker assignment
- Review an invoice
- Update worker information
Include terms you see on the page
Many articles reference the same page names and menu options that appear in Beeline. Including those terms can help narrow your results.
Examples
| If you're working in... | Try including... |
|---|---|
| Time Entry | Approve a timesheet in Time Entry |
| Assignment Details | Extend an assignment from Assignment Details |
| Worker Search | Find a worker using Worker Search |
| Invoice Review | Review an invoice in Invoice Review |
Use the exact text displayed
If Beeline displays an error message, status, page title, field name, or button label, try searching for the exact text you see. Articles often contain the same wording used in the Beeline Enterprise VMS, which can help surface more relevant results.
| Instead of searching for... | Try searching for... |
|---|---|
| Timesheet error | "Timecard cannot be submitted" |
| Candidate issue | "Required fields are missing" |
| Invoice problem | The exact status or message displayed |
| Access problem | "Access Denied" |
| Assignment page | "Assignment Details" |
| Approval issue | "Pending Approval" |
Why this works
General terms such as error, issue, or problem can return many unrelated results. Searching for the exact text helps narrow the results to content that references the same message, page, status, or workflow.
TIP: Copy and paste the message directly from Beeline whenever possible.
Try related terms
Different organizations and users may refer to the same process in different ways. If your search doesn't return the results you expect, try related terms that describe the same task, role, or process.
| If you're searching for... | You could also try... |
|---|---|
| Assignment | Engagement, placement, work assignment |
| Assignment extension | Assignment renewal, renew assignment |
| Attachment retention, attachment deletion, attachment removal | Right to Erasure, data retention, data retention policies, personal data, candidate attachments, résumé, curriculum vitae, erased data fields |
| Candidate | Applicant, submission, worker candidate |
| Data deletion | Right to Erasure, data retention, personal data, data privacy, data retention policies |
| Data desctruction | Retention policies, data privacy, Right to Erasure, personal data |
| Data retention | Retention policies, data privacy, Right to Erasure, personal data |
| Hiring manager | Manager, approver, supervisor |
| Invoice | Billing, supplier invoice, payment request |
| Mileage | Expense report, travel expense, reimbursement |
| PII | Personal information, personal data, data privacy, data protection |

| Timesheet | Timecard, time entry, hours worked |
| User account | Login, user profile, user access |
| Worker | Contractor, contingent worker, resource |
| Worker onboarding | New worker setup, worker assignment, worker start process |
💡 For example, instead of searching for mileage, try searching for submit an expense report or create a travel expense. Instead of searching for paystub, try searching for the specific payroll or payment process you're looking for or contact your payroll provider.
For the best results, include:
| Include... | Examples |
|---|---|
| What you're trying to do | Approve a timesheet, Create a requisition |
| Where you're doing it | Time Entry, Assignment Details |
| What you're seeing | Access Denied, Required fields are missing |
✅ Think of your search as a short description of what you're doing. Including details such as the task, page name or an error message can help surface more relevant articles. For example, "review an invoice in Invoice Review" is likely to return more targeted results than simply searching for "invoice."
Search returning few or no results?
If your search doesn't return useful results, try adding more context or using different terminology.
| If you searched for... | Try searching for... | Why it helps |
|---|---|---|
| Invoice | Review an invoice, Approve an invoice, Supplier invoice | Focuses on the specific task you're performing |
| Assignment | Extend assignment, Assignment renewal, Assignment Details | Uses terminology commonly found in articles |
| Candidate | Submit candidate, Candidate submission, "Required fields are missing" | Adds process context or a specific message |
| Mileage | Expense report, Travel expense, Reimbursement | Uses related terms that may appear more frequently in content |
| Resource | Worker, Contractor, Contingent worker | Accounts for different terminology across organizations |
| Supplier | Vendor, Staffing partner, Staffing supplier | Expands searches to include alternate business terms |
| Error | The exact error message (for example, "Access Denied") | Narrows results to content related to the specific issue |
Build a more effective search
The most effective searches often include:
| Include | Example |
|---|---|
| What you're trying to do | Approve a timesheet |
| Where you're doing it | Time Entry |
| What you're seeing | Access Denied |
✅ Instead of searching for timesheet, try:
Approve a timesheet in Time Entry receiving Access Denied
Including the task, page name, and any messages you're seeing often returns more targeted results than searching for a single keyword.
