HireRight: Self-service bypass reason administration

As a program office user setting up a HireRight® Background Checks integration, you may also want to set up bypass reasons.

Your organization can allow suppliers to continue the onboarding process without ordering a background check based on the criteria you define. If you allow suppliers to skip ordering a background check, you must set up bypass reasons.

1. Select Preferences > VMS Settings > Contingent Staffing. A Contingent Staffing page displays.
2. Select Background Check Provider Bypass Reason.
3. Select Add New.
4. In the Name field, enter a label for the bypass reason.
5. In the Code field, add an acronym for the bypass reason. You can enter up to 255 characters and camelCase is supported.
6. Optional: In the Description field, add an explanation about the bypass reason. For example, your organization might use this field to explain scenarios when a background check may be skipped during the procurement process.
7. Select the Is Active checkbox to make the reason available in Enterprise.
8. From the Background Check Provider list in the Provider Settings section, select HireRight as the background check provider you want to associate the reason with.
9. Select OK.

The bypass reasons you’ve set up are available to suppliers when they have a candidate and scenario where you allow them to continue the onboarding process without ordering a background check.
