Output Types

  • List – The report data displays as a list on a new screen within Beeline Enterprise
  • Excel – The report data displays in a new Microsoft Excel workbook. When this Output option is selected, the Create Report screen refreshes and displays the Show Parameters check box. If selected, this option prompts the report parameters to display as a part of the report output.
  • Form View – This option is used for building form reports or form screens. This Output option takes all fields and pivots them down to display each record in a separate form view.
  • HTML – The report data displays in a new window as a Web page with no paging options. When this Output option is selected, the Create Report screen refreshes and displays the Show Parameters check box. If selected, this option prompts the report parameters to display as a part of the report output.
  • Formatted Report – The report data is displayed in a predefined template that is selected by the user. Through formatted report templates, clients can produce reports with customization, as well as groupings of report data. When this Output option is selected, the Create Report screen refreshes and the following drop-down lists are made available to the user:
    • Template Categories
    • Template
    • Report Layout

These drop-down lists allow the user to customize the appearance of the report based on the available options. Once created, Formatted Reports include features such as, Page Forward/Back, Zoom, Text Find, Export, and Print.

Field Selector

This allows you to enter a field that will be used in the report. Each field in the report corresponds to a column. You can reorder the columns by clicking and dragging them. To search for a field, just begin typing in the text box.

Field Label

This allows you to change the title of the field in the report. Simply click the pencil icon, type in the new name of the column header and click the green check mark to the right of the box to Save changes.

Function

This allows a function to be applied to the field, such as “days since” a date. If functions are not applicable, this text box will be automatically disabled.

  • Count – Count the number of occurrences
  • Distinct Count – Displays distinct count of occurrences
  • Left Pad – Left pads the field with a character to a fixed length
  • Left Trim – Trims the field to the length given (for example – 00001234 with a left trim of 4 would now read – 1234)
  • Max – Displays the maximum value of the field
  • Min – Displays the minimum value of the field
  • Rank – Ranks the fields into Groups
  • Right Pad – Right pads the field with a character to a fixed length
  • Right Trim – Right trims the field to a given length
  • Static Value – Static Value field
  • Substring – Splits the field’s data from a start position to a length.

Sort Priority and Direction

This allows the data displayed in the report to be sorted by the data field.

The sort order determines the order in which the data will be filtered and displayed in relation to the other sorted fields.

The direction changes the sort order from 'A to Z' (standard alphabetical) or from 'Z to A' (reverse alphabetical). If the field is not sortable, then this option is automatically disabled.

Options

This changes various options of how the data is displayed in the report, such as the alignment of the field.

Add New Field

This adds a new empty field to the report.

Advanced Search

This allows you to perform a search on all available fields that can be added to the report.

Filters

Use this tab to limit the data that will be returned in the report. Both fields and aggregate fields can be used to filter the report.

Filter Operator

This allows an operator to be applied to the filter such as "Date Greater Than".

Filter Options

This allows options to be applied to the filter such as “required”, “optional”, or “default value”.
