This comprehensive glossary is a collection of abbreviations, acronyms, initialisms, and terms used by cross-functional Beeline teams.
-
Terms are further categorized into abbreviations, acronyms, and initialisms to help you figure out how to pronounce the term.
-
Abbreviations are the shortened form of a written word or phrase used in place of the whole; for example, amt is an abbreviation for amount.
-
Acronyms are words formed from the initial letter or letters of each of the successive parts or major parts of a compound term. Acronyms are usually pronounced as a word instead of saying each individual letter; for example, radar, or laser.
-
Initialisms are abbreviations formed from initial letters of each of the successive parts or major parts of a compound term. Unlike acronyms, each individual letter is pronounced; for example, SOW, which is an initialism for the Statement of Work.
